Advertising Policy
Rules that keep menu-bar advertising safe, legible, honest, and useful.
Last updated: September 6, 20261. General standard
Ads must be accurate, clearly attributable, readable at menu-bar scale, suitable for a general audience, and linked to a safe HTTPS destination.
2. Creative requirements
Company names, short lines, logos, colors, and destinations must match the promoted business. Objective claims require reasonable evidence.
3. Prohibited content
We do not accept content involving adult services, illegal drugs, tobacco, weapons, gambling, political advocacy, hate, graphic violence, malware, scams, or deceptive system messages.
4. Restricted claims
Financial, health, employment, housing, credit, and other regulated claims may require additional evidence, targeting limits, or rejection.
5. Destination quality
Landing pages must work, use HTTPS, match the creative, disclose material terms, avoid forced downloads, and not change into prohibited content after approval.
6. Review and enforcement
Approval is discretionary and may be revisited. Material creative edits require another review. Unsafe campaigns may be stopped without notice.
7. User experience
Ads may not imitate operating-system alerts, create false urgency, obscure their commercial nature, or pressure display users to click.
